Letter of 7/27/2020 More info about Random things we have been doing in class...pelvic list

7/27/20

Hello Yoga friends!I hope you all are coping with this new world we live in.  I am glad I have my zoom teaching to keep me focused on yoga stuff. If you haven’t been able to try out a class, please do. If you lost the class times and sign up info- let me know and I will re-send it. And if you want to be removed from this email list…let me know that, too.

I have been meaning to share some info about some of the things we have been doing in class.

If you are still trying to figure out how to do the pelvic list, follow this link to Katy Bowman’s website.  There is an article but also a short video.  I think this info might help. If this is challenging, be patient.  It will come and you will get better at it.

Why and How to Pelvic List

I have also included the handout that came with a Katy Bowman dvd (Nutritious Movement for Healthy Pelvis).  My student Anita, calls this the "green sheet”.  I included a picture of my copy so you can see my notes (which may be useful). I can tell a difference in my body when I practice the calf stretch, the knee squeeze and the pelvic list.  I feel stronger when I walk up hills (or down) and I think my balance is better. Let me know what you think.

Healing with Whole Foods Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition by Paul Pitchford. I know I mentioned this book in class to someone (maybe Terry). It is a big fat book and if anyone would like to borrow it, you can.

We were talking about the Theraband Flex bar in class to build hand/forearm strength.
